Paul Feehan
Paul began his musical studies at Huddersfield University where he received the Kruszynski Prize for Piano and the Peabody Homes Prize for all- round attainment. He went on to further his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music where he not only gained the Professional Performer's Diploma and the Postgraduate Certificate for Advanced Studies in Musical Performance, but he was the recipient of numerous prizes including the John Ireland Prize, R J Forbes Prize (twice) and Saville-Holmes Prize for Lieder accompaniment. After leaving the RNCM, Paul continued his studies with Martin Roscoe and Ryzard Bakst. He has performed throughout the country and abroad as soloist, chamber musician and concerto soloist and has accompanied many distinguished soloists including cellists Alexander Baillie and Natalie Clein (BBC & European Young Musician of the Year). He has appeared on local and national TV and radio, most notably on
BBC Radio Leeds, when he was interviewed on the programme "Real Lives" by Caroline Lefevre. Recent successes have included his students' compositions being performed at the Royal Albert Hall London and, under his direction, Bootham School Choir has reached the final three of the BBC Songs of Praise competition. Paul currently works as Director of Music at Bootham School in York. He is an experienced piano teacher and lecturer and in addition to his work at local universities, he works as Musical Director for the Wakefield Festival Chorus.
