Wakefield Festival Chorus was formed in 1977 as part of Wakefield's Silver Jubilee Festival. Over the years the Chorus has become renowned in the area for its accomplished performances. It is a medium sized choir (approx 50 voices) but its repertoire is wide ranging, e.g. from performing large scale choral works in large concert halls / churches down to concerts in local venues in conjunction with school choirs and brass bands. We always welcome new singers. the ability to sight read is useful but not essential. No audition is required. A sub-section of the choir is available for weddings and other functions.
The choir rehearses at St John's Parish Centre, Bradford Road, Wakefield on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm.
