The Wakefield Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb is a great event for food lovers and is actually one of the earliest major food events of the year.

Wakefield is famous for being part of the 'Rhubard Triangle' and the festival celebrates all things rhubarb. The best regional rhubarb produce will be on sale and the most talented local chefs will be cooking up some great recipes. The festival will include street entertainment, a Yorkshire produce market, cookery demonstrations, and visits to the rhubarb growers to see the forcing sheds. There will also be 9 circular walks within the Rhubarb Triangle between Wakefield, Bradford and Leeds,ranging from 1.5 to 6 miles that can be followed in your own time you can join Wakefield artist and author Richard Bell on a guided tour.

Wakefield Council have organised the 2011 event for the 25 and 26 February. it is an event suitable for all the family and food lovers everywhere. On Saturday 26th February, Wakefield Hospice will be hosting a Night of Novelli Cuisine, with celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.
