Quakers in Pontefract

The Quaker Meeting House can be found by turning into the arch by Ackroyd's flower shop on Beastfair. It is the new building on the left. It is next door to the Counting House.

We meet every Sunday at 10.30 for worship. The Meeting House is usually unlocked before this time, and someone is there to welcome members and attenders. The Meeting begins as soon as one person enters the Meeting Room,

The Meeting is often, but not always, silent. Sometimes someone feels moved to speak. Some people read. Bibles and other books are available. At about 11.30 two Friends will shake hands to mark the end of the meeting, and we all greet one-another and discuss all sorts of topics over a coffee.

If you are curious, but do not wish to join us for worship until you have seen what we are like, you may join us for coffee, tea etc at 11.30. You will be welcome.
