Pontefract Calligraphers are not a "formal" night class but a group of like minded people who meet to study and share a facinating and rewarding hobby together.We meet every Tuesday evening (term time) from 7 to 9.15pm, at Carlton High School, Carlton, Pontefract.
We are a small, friendly, informal group of all age ranges and both sexes from a variety of backgrounds. We have a wide range of calligraphic experience ranging from several years to only a few weeks. We study a wide range of calligraphic "hands" and techniques. We have a professional Tutor who is very good and cater for all levels, from absolute beginner to advanced.
We are entirely self funded and pay a small membership fee of £40 per term to cover our costs. We are always pleased to see new members (where-ever you come from) and offer the first session free, so why not come along and "try us out" to see if we suit you. Go on, it will cost nothing and we would love to meet you.
