Pontefract Art Club was founded in 1978 and is one of the oldest art clubs in the area.The Club meets from 7 to 9pm each Wednesday (except August and December) in Micklegate Methodist Church (at the bottom of Horsefair, below the bus station)
The members range from complete beginners to professional and from all areas of the district. New members are always welcome, the current membership for the year is £25. There are demonstrations by visiting artists each month when non-members are invited (there is a small charge).Other evenings include Workshops, Still life, Models and Criticisms, in all mediums.
The highlight of the year is the Annual Exhibition when members exhibit their work to the public.
