Wakefield & District branch of the MS Society is here to support people with MS in our area. Our area covers from Knottingley in the East to Flockton in the West and from Rothwell in the North to South Kirkby in the South.

Wakefield MS provides Support to all people in our Area who are affected by MS, providing the latest information about ongoing Research and treatments. Help with grants for adaptations and mobility aids where other routes may have failed and directions where to find advice on benefits.

We have over 200 members in the 5 towns area and we publish (free to members) a bi-monthly Newsletter packed with information about our many social gatherings, News and the latest Research and treatments for MS. We run several Support and social groups in the district: The "Pins & Needles" at the Rhubarb Triangle pub in Wakefield, WF1 2UF on the second Wednesday of every month from 11.30am. The "Sticks and Shakers" meet at the Prince William, Pioneer Way, Castleford, WF10 5TG on the first Thursday of every month from 11.00am. We also run a chair Yoga session every Friday and other trips and social evenings. Everyone with MS along with partners or Carers are most welcome to come along and join us - we are a friendly bunch.
