West Yorkshire’s new crime-fighting mascot Detective Duck, Pontefract and Knottingley Neighbourhood Policing Team Officers and representatives from local Neighbourhood Watch Schemes were among the guests at the opening of a new park in Pontefract.
The official ceremony was at Pontefract's new Pease Park, Grove Road, Pontefract, on Saturday May 29 2010.

NPT Inspector Richard Sullivan said: "This has been an excellent project that has improved the visible image of the community and is a place where local children can visit and play in a safe environment."
Karen Vezina, Neighbourhood Watch Liaison Officer, said: "Neighbourhood Watch encourages closer communities and a greater sense of community spirit. It is an active partner with the police, community and other partnership agencies. I fully support this project as it brings the same principles to the community, enhancing quality of life and creating a safer environment."
