At the meeting on 14th November 2006 there was a brief review of the Biodiversity report, a more accurate term being Ecological Site Assessment, commissioned by Wakefield Rotary Club.
The report gave a very general account of the present state of each woodland compartment and advice (for the Countryside Service) on how these could be improved.
A member of the Countryside staff was available to say how the report would be used in their management plan, mainly to change much of the conifer plantation to broadleaf.
The Friends agreed to collect seeds of native tree species to grow on and start a tree nursery that would supply indigenous plants for the future broadleaf woodland.
