When Squire Waterton's watchtower, probably the first birdhide to be built, was refurbished in 2006 there were quite a few stones left over.

After much discussion and expert advice it was agreed that the stones should be reconstructed alongside the hide, although originally they would have formed its roof.
|
In May 2007 the roof was finally completed.
