AGM 2008
The 2nd Annual General Meeting took place in the Discovery Centre at Anglers Country Park on June 3rd.

Word from the Chair
Phyllis welcomed the Friends and spoke of the successful year of talks, events and activities. She had produced a booklet showing posters and reports from magazines and the website.
She was hopeful that the woodland would qualify again for the Green Flag Award.

Talk on Bees
Ivor Flatman was the guest speaker giving a fascinating talk on bees and bee-keping.
He had slides to illustrate his talk and also brought along various items of interest, including a skep.

Busy Bees
Of great interest to all was the observation hive, full to capacity with busy bees, including a queen easily recognisable by the yellow spot.

Appreciation
There was an excellent turn-out for the meeting and everyone appreciated Ivor's talk.

Social
Everyone was invited to enjoy the delicious spread provided by the committee.
The drink for the evening was, of course, mead.

Celebratory cake
The centre piece once again was an iced cake, decorated with the Friends logo.
Needless to say, the cake was also made with honey.

Enjoy
Soon everyone was eating, drinking and socialising.

Honey Products
Ivor had brought some delightful products to sell. There were several different kinds of honey and novelty beeswax candles.
Altogether it was anopther very enjoyable and successful evening.
