Friends of Pugneys is a Voluntary Community Group working with Pugneys Country Park and Wakefield MDC to preserve and enhance the park and its facilities. FOPs Committee, consist of the founding members of Pugneys Action Group who fought and won the battle over the proposed parking fee of £2. So you can be assured that our commitment is strong and our intentions are to preserve Pugneys Country Park as a natural, beautiful and visitor friendly place to visit.
We have a signed Constitution and have been an official group since 6th November 2008. We were working with Pugneys Country Park prior to the formulation of an official constitution. So far, FOP have operated thought self finance and we are presently in the process of applying for funding to help with our activities. FOP are the middle man between the you, the general public, the visitor of Pugneys, and Pugneys Country Parks staff and management. If theres something you would like highlighting, be it complimentary or not, then get in touch with us.
If you are able to contribute a few hours each month and would like to join our group, please get in touch, we would love to hear from you. The greater in numbers we are, the more projects and benefit we can provide to vistors. We run a membership which costs just £5 per household. In return we will keep you updated with quarterly newsletters, hold regular member meetings and keep you up to date will issues affecting this wonderful park. As a member it would be fantastic if you would be willing to lend a hand in our projects but its not essential. We welcome everyone and we look forward to meeting you.
