Whats On

The Flanshaw Readers are an informal and friendly group with about a dozen members meeting on Thursday mornings at Flanshaw Library to read and discuss novels, plays, poetry and other works. Reading material is supplied by Wakefield Libraries.

The group meets for three terms of ten weeks, term-time only.

In previous terms we have had visits from local poets John Clarke, Steven Clarkson and Josie Walsh, and have read a large range of plays (from Billy Liar to Macbeth) and novels (from The Day of the Triffids to PD James).

Joining the group costs 2 for a ten-week term. All you need to bring along is an interest in reading and in other readers.

New readers always welcome!
