Oct 07 Exhibition

Over the weekend of October 13th and 14th Crofton Art Group staged its first exhibition of members' paintings.

Setting up

Display boards were set up in the main hall of the Junior School.

The paintings began to arrive on Friday afternoon, checked in by Group Treasurer, and helpers.

Other group members were on hand to put the pictures in place.

Guests arrive

District Councillors Maureen Cummings, Graham Isherwood and Albert Manifield with Parish Councillor Simon Bennett came along to help launch the event.

Officially Launched

Cllr Maureen Cummings declared the exhibition open.


Throughout the weekend there was a steady stream of visitors from near and far.


Home made cakes were available, along with cups of tea and coffee (including Fairtrade)

Members had organised the provision of goodies and spent much of the weekend serving delicious refreshments.

Just looking

Enjoying a wander round admiring the various pieces of work.


All visitors had a programme listing the pieces of work, sale price (if applicable) and information about the artists.


Many were impressed by the variety, quality and standard of worked produced.


Members brought family and friends along to admire the works.


Visitors spent time discussing the merits of the different pieces.


And everyone enjoyed the welcome cup of tea with excellent home-made cakes.
