Setting up

Display boards were set up in the main hall of Slack Lane Junior School.

The paintings began to arrive on Friday afternoon, checked in by Group Treasurer, Jan, and helpers.

Other group members were on hand to put the pictures in place.

Guests arrive

District Councillors Maureen Cummings, Graham Isherwood and Albert Manifield with Parish Councillor Simon Bennett came along to help launch the event.

Officially Launched

Cllr Maureen Cummings and Group Secretary, Chris Dart, declared the exhibition open.

Visitors

Throughout the weekend there was a steady stream of visitors from near and far.

Refreshments

Home made cakes were available, along with cups of tea and coffee (including Fairtrade)

Jean had organised the provision of goodies and spent much of the weekend, ably assisted by Keith and other volunteer helpers, serving delicious refreshments.

Just looking

Group Chair, Lesley, enjoyed a wander round admiring the various pieces of work.

Visitors

All visitors had a programme listing the pieces of work, sale price (if applicable) and information about the artists.

Impressed

Many were impressed by the variety, quality and standard of worked produced.

Enjoyment

Members brought family and friends along to admire the works.

Discussion

Visitors spent time discussing the merits of the different pieces.

Relaxing

And everyone enjoyed the welcome cup of tea with excellent home-made cakes.
