Exhibition 2008
The Art Group's second exhibition was held on Saturday and Sunday 15/16th November at Slack Lane Junior School.

School entrance area
Last year our advertising was minimalistic, this year we went for big and bold!
|

Raffle
No entrance fee this year, but everyone was very generous in buying raffle tickets. All prizes were donated. First prize was an original painting by artist Les Wilson and second prize a cake by Beth Armstrong. Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets and donated prizes.
|

Craft stalls
This year for the first time we had a small range of crafts: greeting cards, painted glass, hand-painted Christmas decorations, stained glass, and flower arrangements etc.
|

Embroidered pictures
Crafts also included embroidered pictures.
|

Visitors
We had over 200 visitors to our exhibition - fantastic. We would like to thank all family, friends and people from the local community (and further afield) who came along and supported us.
|

Refreshments
Members were busy prior to the exhibition baking cakes. These were enjoyed with tea or coffee. Thank you to all the ladies and gentlemen who prepared and served refreshments. Here is Peter having a go after he had received some training from Eve!
|

Craft stalls
Ruth - all set up now waiting for the visitors.
|

What do you think to that one
This year our members have been very busy - we had over 190 paintings exhibited. There were many different styles and media used including watercolour, oils, acrylic, charcoal and pen and ink. Our diverse range is one of our attractions and presents an interesting exhibition for the visitors.
|

Talking point
A social occasion and chance to meet friends and family.
|

I can't decide which one I like best

Advising the youngsters
Keith explaining the finer points to an interested young artist.

Raffle winners with artist Les Wilson
Crofton Art Group members would like to thank the many people who have supported them with the exhibition. Particular thanks go to John Cowan of J & H Framing for his excellent frames and for all his running around with the exhibition stands, and to Crofton Junior School for their generosity in providing us with excellent facilities.
