Christine Gerard April 2009
During April two separate groups of members attended a painting workshop with local watercolour artist Christine Gerard. The topic was a lovely autumn woodland scene. Members had prepared a basic sketch beforehand. We applied some masking fluid so that we could commence painting by doing broad sections of coloured washes for the sky and background trees. Christine Gerard is a very skilled water-colourist and she encouraged members, and passed on her knowledge about colour-mixing and other techniques such as wet-in-wet and dry brush work. It was a relaxing, instructive and enjoyable afternoon.

Christine Gerard's painting - this is what we are trying to painting this afternoon - quite a challenge!
