CTW AGM
Our Annual General Meeting is on THURSDAY 10th
JULY at TREACY HALL Wakefield Cathedral at
7:30pm. In
addition to the usual reports, we will hear from
local churches on their own events. The meeting is
open to members of all our member churches.
At the AGM, we will also look at a revised
constitution, basically bringing up to date the
existing document.
If anyone has any matters for the AGM, please
contact the SECRETARY at least 14 days prior.
Taize 2008-
There will be an ecumenical pilgrimage to Taize in
France for young adults 16-30 led by the Bishop of
Pontefract- from 16th-25th August 2008. Perhaps
your church could sponsor someone to go- costs
are low.
Many young people have found that this pilgrimage
has been very helpful to them in making decisions
or finding a sense of purpose within a wider
community of people of their age. Details initially
from the Secretary
HOPE 08 is a weekend being organised by
Wakefield for Jesus on Eastmoor over the weekend
of 21st/22nd June- hosted jointly by the Church
and the local community at the St. Swithun's
Centre. It's intended to strengthen links between
the Church and the community and raise the profile
of the local churches as well as giving something to
the community. A flier will be coming soon in the
CTW mailing. On Saturday 21st there is a Fun
Day from 12 noon to 5pm and a concert by
Christian musician Philippa Hanna and band, at
7.30pm (tickets £5 available from Paul Dowling
01924-371029). Philippa is a professional musician
and comes from this part of the world. She's well
worth bringing a party to hear. You can find out
more about her from www.philippahanna.co.uk
Then, on Sunday there's a barbecue and a worship
band from 3pm to 5pm. Everyone is welcome at all
events. You need to buy tickets for the concert. For
everything else, you can just turn up!
