Message in a Bottle

Our most recent project, in conjunction with Pontefract Lioness Club which is still ongoing, is the introduction of the Lions “Message in a Bottle Scheme”, this is a "free" service to anyone, especially those living on their own, who would be reassured to know that in the event of a sudden illness or an accident in their own home, their personal and medical details would be immediately available to any of the emergency services. This free service can save valuable time and “Time can and does save lives”.

Bottles are available from all local doctors’ surgeries as well as chemists’ shops and many other places such as churches, health visitors and community nurses. All WYMAS ambulances now also carry supplies of the bottles. If you have any difficulty in obtaining a bottle, please contact us direct.

Since the scheme was launched in September 2004, over 12,500 bottles have been placed and are operational in the local community.
