Computers and other IT equipment is collected from local authorities and businesses for recycling and refurbishing. Training is available to volunteers. Work placements are available to local schools.
Computers are given free of charge to charities and voluntary groups and childrens projects, and also made available at low cost to the general public. A complete computer costs just £39 including Windows.
Computer monitors contain 4lb of lead in each screen to protect you from radiation. Other IT equipment contains an assortment of toxic nasties. This must be dealt with by properly and not sent to landfill. Full assistance is given with legal compliance with WEEE Directives and the Hazardous Waste Consignment regulations.
