Our main activity is the twice-monthly meetings. For a typical meeting, members start arriving from about 09:45am for a chat before the main activity of the meeting starts. After a brief introduction to the meeting by the president, we move rapidly into the main feature of the meeting - often a presentation by a speaker. The talk can be about the speakerís experience of work or of some interesting or unusual experience, local history, travel at home or abroad, or perhaps the contemporary scene e.g. the police, the law, medical, computing or any other topic of interest. On some occasions, an alternative is organised, for example, some participative activity such as straightforward management games for fun, a quiz, or some other activity organised by the members.

There is then a break for tea/coffee and biscuits followed by a short business meeting, leaving time for adjournment to the bar and an opportunity to continue talking.

Throughout the year, the Club holds social events in the form of the Annual Dinner in January, a Summer Dinner/dance in July and a Christmas lunch in December when wives, partners and friends are invited. For two of the regular meetings during the year (August and December), the programme is changed to a Business Meeting followed by a buffet for members, both those present and those absent through e.g. illness. We also have a programme of visits to a variety of local points of interest, frequently involving wives, partners and friends.

All of the activities are organised by the members with opportunities for you to influence what happens and to use your skills and contacts to organise events and to introduce new activities for the benefit of the Club and its members; something which helps to keep you active and your mind in action.
