Aim for 5 A DAY

Image 1 for Aim for 5 A DAY Fruit and vegetables are an excellent source of the vitamins, minerals and fibre we need to help maintain a healthy body and fight diseases. Yet most of us don't eat enough of them.

Image 2 for Aim for 5 A DAY Fruit and vegetables are generally low fat, low calorie foods. So eating fruit and vegetables instead of foods that are high in fat and added sugars may help you achieve or keep to a healthy weight.

FACT: Fresh, frozen, chilled, canned, 100% juice, and dried fruit and vegetables all count.

Eating more fruit and vegetables may help reduce the risk of the two main killer diseases in this country - heart disease and some cancers.

...so many tastes, colours and textures to choose from.

For more information on Healthy Eating or 5 A DAY, why not contact a Community Food & Health Worker. Contact details available on the Contact sheets.
